Hello! My name is Dasia and I am a caregiver! I have 6 years of experience (2 of those years unpaid in a daycare center). I have worked with kids ALL ages (including kids with special needs) and I am currently a substitute teacher in Hampton City Schools! Nurturing children and witnessing their milestones brings me immense joy. For the past four years, I've dedicated myself to providing enriching care for children of all ages, from infancy through adolescence. I find it rewarding to support families by being a dependable childcare option for them. My approach is patient, creative, and friendly. I enjoy engaging children with outdoor activities, board games, and educational puzzles. But of course, each kid is different and I use my creativity alongside the knowledge I gain about the child's preferences, idiosyncrasies and needs to assure I engage in a way that they enjoy and meets (and Read more try to exceed) the expectations set for me by the parents. I have worked with children with autism before. I'm trained in ABT therapy and I am currently getting my RBT certification! I am comfortable caring for up to four children (two babies) at a time and am very comfortable enforcing household rules. I communicate daily with parents, verbally or via their preferred method, to share updates. I have some college experience, am comfortable with pets, and hold current certifications in CPR and First Aid.
