I love being a babysitter because caring for children comes naturally to me and feels genuinely rewarding. My experiences at YMCA Camp High Harbour strengthened this passion by allowing me to work closely with children in a very hands-on environment. As a counselor at this sleep-away camp, it was my job to make the parents as well as the kids comfortable as they would be away from home for a week. I assisted with organizing and creating activities, and ensuring their safety in both the cabins and group settings. I enjoyed creating fun, engaging environments and watching the campers flourish. Here at this camp we are trained to deal with many emotional needs as well as physical. We are First-Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard certified which grew my leadership skills.
