My name is Kayleb , i am currently an au pair in Herndon Virginia, 25 years old and from South Africa. I have been looking after kids since 16 years old as I use to volunteer at a non profit organization during school holidays whilst I was on summer break at high school and continued doing it yearly after. Our responsibilities would include feeding the kids taking them for outdoor activities, singing songs together and playing court yard games too. After completing high school I continued playing baseball as I started since 17 years old. My passion grew for the sport , I decided to started coaching baseball as well as juggling soccer as I started to volunteer at my high school to teach fitness and athletics as well . My work schedule had to be included, I worked in retail after I finished high school to save some money Read more for coming abroad in 2019 as I was actively involved in childcare most of my youth days . My extensive experience working with kids came as an advantage as I applied to be a camp counselor and I got selected by CAMP TEKOA in Hendersonville North Carolina . Summer camp was a good experience and many parents have good reviews about their kids being in my care. I returned to South Africa after the programs ended due to the j1 regulations and continued to volunteer at the non profit organization ,I then reapplied in for an au pair in 2021-2022 , I matched with my current family in Herndon , Virginia . I arrived in February 2023 in the DMV and I love being here as the diversity and warm of the people are unmatched. I usually work 30 hours per week, I’m usually free from 9:30 am -3:30 pm and I end at 8pm. rarely 1 weekend in a month. I have two boys I look after in elementary school aged 9-10 . Due to it being a requirement I am infant and toddlers trained as well as cpr trained and certificates can be Provided as proof . I have a car I’m using as an au pair which I only drive within 15 miles . My only request from families is that their kids are respectful and responsible . I don’t accept discrimination or disrespect in any type of way from kids but I also understand that kids can be sometimes emotion.
