Lauren did well for our initial interview (via phone) and was looking forward to the next step. We had her come over to do a face-to-face interview and to fill out forms (including back ground check). She was so excited and could not wait to start. She was available for part time right away and full time in mid-April, as a live-in Nanny. We were open for live in or live out. So we decided to have her come for a trial on a Saturday afternoon. We spoke via phone on Friday night to confirm everything and she again said, "I'm so excited, and looking forward to starting tomorrow." Lauren had said she felt very comfortable with our family and clicked right away. Saturday comes and I sent her a quick text saying that her room was all set since she was going to spend the night and help us on Sunday. I really did not "need" her the entire weekend; but wanted her to get some hours and make money. Since she was looking to work evenings and weekends. I figured this would be a great transition for her to be a live-in and get used to the routine. She does not show up on Saturday, nor does she call or text. So, I called her and left message (worried since she always responded immediately). sent her a text and called again...no answer. Sunday came and no answer. After seeing she checked onto sittercity this week (2 weeks since her no-show up) I decided it was time to give a review. I've had a girl or two not show-up for an interview, or not call back; but I let it go and move onto the next interview. Those situations are never worth my time to do a review. This time we had decided to hire her part-time until her current live-in family moved to CA, and then she would be live-in with us. We made tentative schedule plans. I wish Lauren the best and hope that she does not do this to another family. Seriously, a quick phone call, or a text would have been fine. :)
