For the past 10 years I have home schooled my two daughters. I like nothing more than spending time with kids. I have had experience with my 2 girls as infants, they were 23 months apart. I learned to balance the needs of an active toddler with that of an infant. I enjoyed every stage of development. I focused on creating a loving, peaceful and beautiful environment for them. We had routines and regular reading and nature appreciation times. I tried to incorporate several styles of education so I would describe my approach as eclectic. From Waldorf I borrowed some of the songs and leaning towards quality wood toys. From Montessori I like the idea that children had their own likes and dislikes from the start. I used Anna Comstock's nature studies to incorporate learning about our natural world. Jane Claire Lambert's Before Five in a Row literature "units". I Read more occasionally used computers to introduce the concept of responsibly using electronics. We used Starfall fairly early and progressed through Studydog. We were members of Enchanted Learning and used that site for some of our lap books. I won't detail past that because most likely they will graduate to Kindergarten after that point.
