I am 58 years old and have four grown children ranging in age from 22 to 31. I am a native Washingtonian, so I am familiar with the area. I started babysitting in my early teens, continued through high school and my early years in the work force. I, also, was a camp counselor for several years. I became a mother at 26 and worked full time until the birth of our third child in the summer of 1990. That fall I started a home daycare. I cared for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, as well as before and after school care. Some I drove to and from school. In 1994 we had our fourth child, but I continued babysitting until 2000 when my first charge was able to go home after school on his own.
