I attended Highland Springs Technical Center for 2 years for the Early Childhood Education & Services program. I successfully completed both years and got my certification to professionally work with children. I am employed by Henrico County Public Schools- I worked for the prek program for 6 years. Anyone I've worked with can tell you that I have an excellent balance between being stern and gullable. I like to have fun, which the child will see. I communicate with the child on their level. I get them to make their own choice rather than telling them what to do. If you have a more difficult child (attitude issues, whiny, obsessed with getting it there way, hyper, diva, anger, etc.) that's like a specialty. I like working with children like that because I like Read more to turn kids around. If your child is disrespectful, I believe I can help you with strategies to get them back in there place. They will also see that they won't get to run over top of me. I'm a loving child care provider, who will follow the PARENTS' instructions, but I do believe it's my job to bring joy and fun into every home! I am very respectful and understanding of different choices, cultures, and backgrounds. I puck up after your car! I like to take care of everything so that the parents don't have a thing to worry about! They'll be fed, bathed, and teeth brushed. They will have had they're t.v. time and the bedtime stories will be taken care of. You should be able to go out for the night and come back to a clean, silent house.
