I am seeking a degree in Elementary Education (grades preschool through 6th grade). I have been volunteering and working in child care and education settings for several years. I worked as an assistant teacher for an eco-friendly school which specialized in nature education, so I love to get kids outside and moving when I am with them. I also believe strongly in play-based and experiential learning both at home and in the classroom! I try to limit screen time with the kids I care for and use that time to get them engaged outside. I also have experience working with children and adults with disabilities and was an attendant for a few years for two families with individuals with a disability. I also have been tutoring for several years both online and in the classroom so I can support children with homework or academics as well. I also have been Read more studying American Sign Language for several years and have experience working with preschoolers that are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I also worked on a farm this summer that specializes in providing vocational training for neurodiverse individuals. I am really eager to teach kids about healthy living, where their food comes from and how to love and respect the Earth! I have my own transportation and a flexible schedule due to having only online classes! I am fully vaccinated and willing to work with a mask or get tested as needed!
