Hello, My name is Angela. I am a mother of three grown young adults (ages 34,29, &24), grandmother of two adorable grandsons (ages 10 and 6), a godmother of many, and mentor to several children/young adults. Currently I work a full-time job as a Compliance Representative for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Recently re-started my own services/consultant business in Virginia. Note that I said re-started, because in the state of Georgia I was a licensed part-time childcare provider for parents who worked evenings and weekends; plus, once a month I hosted "parent night out". As a part-time childcare provider, I picked the children up from their after-school programs, assisted with homework, attended meetings/events when parents could not make it, ran errands for parents, and prepared meals. When the parents came to pick the children up in the evening, everything was done. In some cases, provided overnight care for those parents that Read more worked afterhours. If I had the children on the weekends, we attended planned activities, worked in the flower bed, made crafts, and attended church services. During the holiday season there were certain evenings set aside in which I extended childcare services to parents that needed to shop night to pick up those special holiday gifts. Since the children that were under my care relocated or got too old for me to “babysit” anymore, I closed my childcare business completely in Georgia in 2008 prior to moving back to the DMV. In relocating to the Virginia area, I have been searching for a way to regenerate my business as I have witnessed that in the hustle and bustle of each day, parents are running out of time to get things done ... and simply need help more than ever before. In searching various venues to build my business and each time an “ad” pops up with a parent seeking childcare for their children; and my heart understands that “plea”. So, I’ve done some research on the basic needs of some families … errands needed, light housekeeping, and childcare. At this point in my life, I have come to realize that making a difference in a child’s life does not stop when your children are grown … it is a lifetime commitment. So why not build the foundation of my business with good old-fashioned compassion for people & meeting them at the level in which they need assistance by providing quality services of childcare in their home, offsite laundry services, and personal shopping services.
