I was an Assistant Teacher at The Goddard School for Early Childhood Development wherein I worked with infants all the way up to kids the age of 5. I am CPR, First Aid, and AED certified, and I have no problem assisting with housework. I enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. If possible, I want to expose children to a wide variety of things such as musical instruments or different hobbies they can acquire to express themselves to aid in their development. I have no problem working with special needs children as my own little brother has autism. I most recently worked as a Registered Behavior Technician in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis but had to leave the field due to the increasing needs of my current Internship to become a Mental Health Counselor. Hello! I have about 5 years experience working with children. I started working with kiddos when I was about 14 years old. I started with watching my younger cousins and helped in my local church. In high school I was in an early childhood education class for three years. Two of the years I was a TA. In this class we had a running preschool. I helped all the students come up with lesson plans to teach the children. I also helped my teacher with other duties. My senior year I got a job as a preschool teacher and worked part time after I got out of school. I was a preschool teacher for about two years, and for about six months I worked as a resource teacher. I also babysat on weekends and other instances for a few families I knew. I have lived in Virginia Beach for most of my life.  I have over 35 years of childcare experience including 6 full time summers, 4 years of teaching at a local day care, and years of working in my church nursery.  In college, I majored in Psychology and Early Childhood Education.
