I have a grown daughter and now help care for her 3 children. Their ages range from 19 months to 7 yrs old. We do a lot of crafts together--well, except the baby; he likes me to hold him mostly. I didn't complete nursing school, but have received a lot of hands on training in caring for my parents. I cared for my father his last months of life, and then took care of my mother for 8 years. She had dementia and had a major stroke near the end,leaving her bed ridden. i washed her, her bedding daily, and cooked and fed her meals. I feel keeping her mentally active with games, puzzles or just conversation helped her a lot. She also enjoyed listening to old music while I'd exercise her legs and arms.
