I am a a college graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology from Liberty University as well as an Associate's of Applied Science in human services from Tidewater Community College. I was greatly involved in my church's nursery and children's department as a teen and have been babysitting regularly for 9 years. I have experience with all age ranges, from caring for newborn babies less than 1-month-old to helping with pre-teens and teenagers up to 15 years old. I was a full-time nanny through the pandemic (home school and everything) and gained a lot of great experience from that! Comfortable with infant care, such as help with tummy time, using safe sleep guidelines, baby led weaning, and am open to learning baby sign language (I know a little but am open to learning more if given the opportunity) to list a few things! For toddlers and children, I am a Read more fan of gentle parenting, explaining and using modeling behavior to teach good habits and behaviors, and a Montessori learning and playing approach. I also believe in positive language use and redirection for behaviors we don’t like seeing! I love to truly have fun with the kids I babysit and make babysitting a really fun and enjoyable time for the kids; I also don't mind helping with implementation of a normal routine or school work, though!
