Hi everybody! My name is Hunter Sophia and I want to be your sitter! I'm from Burlington and am a senior at the University of Vermont. I am passionate about youth empowerment and accessible education. I have served as a nanny, a classroom-behavior support specialist, an academic tutor, a post-secondary advisor, the head coach of junior-varsity athletics, an afterschool programming coordinator, a summer enrichment director, and am currently serving as the chair of Youth-Mentoring Club at UVM. My caretaking philosophy involves strong family-support systems as essential to safe communities. When I partner with a family, I like to spend quality time with the children to best assess and meet their needs. I structure activities with youth based on their interests and bring a wealth of professional experience in areas such as academics, athletics, arts and performance, volunteerism, and travel. I am certified in CPR/AED use, first-aid, emergency/crisis response, program risk-assessment and safety preparation, child-transportation, and positive behavior support. I am a registered youth-mentor with Mentor Vermont. I have a driver's license, a vehicle that seats four passengers, and access to kid-friendly spaces/events via UVM.
