I'm a 23 year old babysitter. I've been babysitting since I was 10 years old, mostly for my little baby brother in the early stages. I've babysat newborn babies through to 13/14 year-olds. I've babysat overnight and for entire weekends. The way I babysit is unique because the children don't feel like they're being "watched". I do my absolute very best to make them feel like they're just hanging out with a big kid. I listen to them and engage them on the level that the kids are typically looking for. I do this because, as a kid, I hated the fake "oohs" and "ahhhs" from adults when I know they weren't even listening to a word of what I said. I make the kids feel like they're actually being listened to. Additionally, I'm VERY active and can keep up with any and all kids. I'll wear them out for Read more you and have them sleeping through the night. Not only that, I try to connect on a personal level. I try to help them out with problems they aren't typically comfortable talking with their parents with. Of course, I debrief the parents and always let them know if there is something concerning.
