Hello! My name is Alyssa and I am a 21 year old student at Western Washington University, studying to pursue my degree in Early Childhood Education. I previously worked at Newport Children's School in Bellevue, WA for over 3 years. I worked as an assistant teacher, where I was then promoted to lead teacher of the toddler classroom. In this position, I cared for seven 24-month-old children. I also worked as a co-lead kindergarten teacher, caring for around twenty 6-7-year-old children. This meaningful experience, I am confident in ensuring the safety and well-being of large (or small) groups of children in their home or in public spaces. Through my previous work and course work I am passionate and knowledgable about planning and executing developmentally appropriate activities. I also practice the Montessori style approach, emphasizing child-led activities. I love the outdoors, arts and crafts, and reading!
