Hi, I'm Sam Smock, and I'm a caregiver because I just love watching the kiddies! Watching kids has always been something fun for me to do, and I love it. I've always watched the neighbor kids when their parents had to go out for a while, and I would always say yes. I have had a few babysitting courses from the Boys and Girls Club, and that included a CPR lesson. I have watched a child with special needs for about a year. She had epilepsy, and a neurological problem that left her unable to speak, walk, or sleep on her own. She needed to be given oral medication, fed, and watched the whole time. I have a lot of patience when it comes to kids, and i rarely get angry. If they do something wrong, I first remind them that they can't do that, and if they continue, I Read more put them in timeout for a time that corresponds with their age. For instance, if a child is four years old, I would put them in time out for four minutes. Then after the time was up, I would ask them if they understood why they got in time out, and if they didn't, I would explain, make sure they understood then, and then send them back to play, and ask if they would like me to play with them. I enjoy playing games with the children and can easily play pretend. If you have any rules or regulations for me to go by while watching your children, please explain them to me and will do everything in my ability to follow them.
