Hello! My name is Tegan Mitchell, I am currently an Elementary Education Major at Pacific Lutheran University. I have been a playmate and pal of small children for several years. The time I have with them -- exploring and learning and laughing have been some of the brightest of my life. I have babysat and nannied for many families over the last five years, each household brings forth a new and different dynamic and structure. From this I have learned patience, spontaneity, and the ability to adapt. I am also a reading tutor at a local elementary school. I get to work individually with kids in the beginning stages of their learning fundamentals of reading. From this I have learned humility, and the impact encouragement can have on a child's disposition. I teach Sunday School and have always participated in Vacation Bible School at my dad's church. My interest in enriching the lives and characters of young people led me to pursue a career in Elementary Education, which has given me the opportunity to learn how to become invested in the growth and cultivation of young minds, encourage the dreams of students, and revel in the joys and honest contemplations that children bring to the table. I am First Aid/CPR certified for infants. I love pups, and am experienced with large dogs. I love being outside and thinking of fun new activities. I am more than happy to help with housework.
