Personally I've raised two girls of my own and is currently an empty nester. Now that I'm no longer a full time mom, I'm taking on some part time jobs assisting other busy parents. I'm also comfortable being around pets. My family moved to WA 23 years ago and I turned a full time mom out of choice. During those years I had the joy of caring for my kids and volunteered as a teacher helper when my younger child started elementary school, helping other children in school with reading and art projects. I taught elementary Singapore Mathematics and substituted for challenged students English classes on Saturdays with Northwest Chinese School when my daughters were attending Chinese lessons there for 3-4 years. Also privately tutored some Taiwanese kids and assisted non-fluent English speakers in the library ESL classes over the years. I believe with proper nurturing and providing children with early learning opportunity can enhance positive child development. I highly value quality education. I am good at reading books to kids and enjoy singing children's songs and rhymes with them. I am great at telling time-tested and children-proved stories. I am good at teaching and making art and craft projects. Also able to handle making healthy kids meals and cleaning after kids with ease. Since the past years to date I have been working part time and occasionally for families with kids ranging from 0 months to 12 years old. I have experience with baby and toddler care. The last three summers I’ve been a camp counselor in Arizona and loved it! My favorite days at camp were swim days, I used to be a swimmer and the pool was fun for the kids. From this experience, I learned a lot more from my campers than I expected to. For instance, on a trampoline field trip, a bunch of my campers taught me to front flip (I didn’t have much say in the matter but I’m still glad they encouraged me) I am first aid/CPR certified as well and have experience with children who have disabilities. I have a sister with a disability (CDLS) and grew up helping take care of her. In Arizona I received article 9 training and have a finger print card. I retired early to enjoy being a grandma after raising five children as a single parent. Now I have nine grandchildren with another on the way.
