Howdy! My childcare career began about twelve years ago as a weekly volunteer and eventually as lead teacher at my church in San Antonio, Texas. It was there I met families that would become my very first clients. As time went by, my business grew fruitfully! I also began substitute teaching at ECC and elementary schools, including in special needs classrooms. In 2019, I returned to school to complete my bachelor’s degree in accounting. At this time, I babysat only for my most well established families, a few of which are my references. After graduating in December 2021, I moved to Austin for my first full-time accounting position. After a year however, a company-wide RIF impacted my position, which allowed me to think boldly about my next steps. I was happily given the opportunity to move here to the PNW to experience a whole new environment. I absolutely love the sprawling natural features that surround me! My new accounting position is full-time, but I've opened my schedule for weekday evening and weekend childcare to supplement my income. It is a bit pricey to renew so I've chosen not to. However, I'd gladly complete another check if a family wishes to purchase one on my behalf. Same for motor vehicle check (perfect driving record). I’m open to provide transportation for outings using my newly purchased SUV. I have an adjustable carseat and booster, or we can use yours. Trips to the park and playgrounds are my favorite! The last three summers I’ve been a camp counselor in Arizona and loved it! My favorite days at camp were swim days, I used to be a swimmer and the pool was fun for the kids. From this experience, I learned a lot more from my campers than I expected to. For instance, on a trampoline field trip, a bunch of my campers taught me to front flip (I didn’t have much say in the matter but I’m still glad they encouraged me) I am first aid/CPR certified as well and have experience with children who have disabilities. I have a sister with a disability (CDLS) and grew up helping take care of her. In Arizona I received article 9 training and have a finger print card. I currently go to college in California and am working towards being a nurse practitioner.
