On many of these profiles, I generally see people that grew up with many other siblings. I have one older sister, but the main thing that sets me apart is I grew up in a 2nd grade classroom. My mom is a teacher in a district 45 minutes away from home so I spent most of my time with 30 kids from kindergarten till the 8th grade. I helped tutor some of them as I got older and walked some to the principles office if they were naughty. This is where I learned that I have a passion for working with children. For the past 4 years, I have been teaching swim lessons at my local YMCA as well as being a lifeguard there so you can be sure that I have had first aid training and more. I enjoy working with kids individually and learning little things about them that I would never have known unless I took the time to get to know them. That is another reason why the daycare is so fun. It is generally the same group of kids so i get to know all of them pretty well. The main reason I like to work with kids is because I love seeing them figure things out and seeing them learning to be proud of themselves. That is one of the main rewords for teaching swim lessons. I get to see the kids light up as they slowly master a skill. I think I am good at working with children not only because I was raised doing it, it is also something I want to pursue as part of my future. I want to be a part of the business side of a nonprofit like the YMCA that helps kids in any way that they can. That could be sports, tutoring, you name it. Thanks for the consideration!
