I have been babysitting for almost as long as I can remember. My little brother is 7 years younger than I am, and I was changing diapers from day 1. I learned, through my relationship with him, how to interact well with babies and children from a young age. I was also the child of 2 teachers and we lived overseas, so I babysat for teacher friends of the family from the time I was about 12. Babysitting was my first job, and it's one that is unmatched for me in the way that it makes me feel: happy and connected and like I'm making a real impact in a young person's life. I now go to school at The Evergreen State College full-time, and also work as a kindergarten aide at Garfield Elementary. I know how to take care of kids and babies, and I do it as my Read more job, but mainly I love making friends with them, learning who they are, and sharing as many smiles and laughs and fun days as we can.
