Greetings to you and yours! ~ I have a BA from Antioch University Seattle, with concentration in Human Development and Learning. I have mostly worked as a writer and administrator in adult arts & learning environments. I moved to Madison Nov 1st, 2021. I am available for before school, afterschool, evenings, and weekends. ~ In terms of philosophy and approach, I admire the teaching model portrayed in the documentary "Children Full of Life." The most important lesson for a child is to embody compassion for oneself and others in community. ~ The modern world is full of many distractions and low energy stimuli. Technology and screens have their place so long as they do not replace direct perception or model undesirable behaviors and attitudes. Everyone needs to find a balance between what they consume and what they create. My go-tos with children are: Art, expressive movement, reading, communication skills, and Read more (weather permitting) nature and journeys. ~ Environment matters. Energy and feeling tones matter. I try to be playful and present for myself and my child every day as I cultivate emotional intelligence and communication skills with her.
