Hi! My name is Mars, I'm 19, and I use they/them pronouns. I first started working with kids when I was 14 working as an assistant Sunday school teacher and did VBS camps in the summers too! I recently went to school at the Evergreen State College and was able to work at their child care center. Here I was provided with a 30 hour child care basics course that taught me so much about infant care, toddler care, and preschool care. Additionally I earned a few more certifications including: safe sleep, blood born pathogens, and Washington state food handlers permit. When working here they taught me how to teach kids empathy, respect, understanding, and boundaries. I find kids are receptive when met on their own level with a calm and respectful demeanor. I plan to incorporate these things into my babysitting.
