I would love to find a family or two for regular date night/errand type sitting but am available for short notice or one time gigs as well. I recently moved back to the Seattle area from Walla Walla. I graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2013 with a BA in Spanish and International Business. Up until about 2 months ago, my plan was to go back to school to obtain a Masters of Education degree to become an elementary teacher but a recent job opportunity has kind of altered those plans. I just started working for Washington State University as an Event Coordinator and so far I am loving it (hence the re-evaluation of thof Masters degree). I absolutely adore kids and I find it to be incredibly rewarding to be involved in children's lives. Until my move, I served as a substitute teacher and before that, I Read more taught dance to all ages. I find that kids respond really well to me and it is very easy to find a level of mutual respect that leads to productive relationships. One of my passions is dance. I took classes and performed starting when I was 9 and continued through college where I served in several leadership roles of the campus group. I began teaching dance classes my junior year of college and absolutely loved it. Getting to share my passion with the children I taught was so fulfilling and is something I'm hoping to get back to now that I'm back over here. I also absolutely love doing crafts and activities to keep kids entertained and maybe help them learn and explore new ideas :) I'm kind of obsessed with Pinterest, haha. My childcare philosophy really revolves around the parents desires while earning the children's trust and respect. I like to keep things as normal as possible as far as rules and expectations but I also want them to have fun! So please, be upfront about any hard and fast rules your family is expected to abide by and I will absolutely do my best to uphold those. In addition to care, I don't mind doing some light cooking and cleaning/general housework and homework help!
