I am a freshman in college at California State University, Long Beach. I recently moved out of Seattle for school. While I was home, I had many volunteering and employment opportunities to work with kids. I am the oldest of 4 and my siblings range from the age of 2 to 13. So I pretty much grew up helping my mom out with my brother and sisters. Now that I am out of the house, my parents often call me up to babysit my siblings. I also volunteered with the Seattle's Union Gospel Mission since I was old enough to, at about the age of 13, and got to help with elementary aged kids. This past summer I got a paid position as a Summer Outreach Assistant. My duties were to work alongside 4 other employees to provide a safe and fun environment for the kids in our program. Some Read more specific things I was in charge of was arts and crafts days, movie days, helping the teachers plan educational AND fun activities for classroom time, prepare snacks and lunch for the kids. I've worked with kids basically my whole life so you could say it's a talent I was gifted with. I love kids and I am a kid at heart so I think that's what makes it easier for kids to connect with me.
