Hello and thank you for stopping by to learn about me as a caregiver. I hope to a find great match and I look forward to providing optimal care for your child. Background: My passion for working with children and families developed at a young age. I decided to pursue a Bachelors in Spanish and Masters in Education. In between those years, I served as a full-time nanny, on-call babysitter, lead toddler teacher, Spanish teacher, Pre-K teacher, child care floater and substitute teacher. I have worked with children as young as newborns to school-age. Currently, I am working with newborns to 3 years old who have developmental delays. I have had a rewarding career and thrive in areas where I know I am making a difference for the next generation. I highly believe that, as adults, we are responsible in creating a safe, nurturing, fun, and age/child appropriate atmosphere. Why Read more be a babysitter? Much of my hours are spent in an office with minimal contact with families and children. It is a huge adjustment from being in a classroom! Please do not get me wrong. My job is amazing!! I simply miss the child and caregiver interaction that I have had in my life for over 8 years and would love to find a wonderful family who I can help care for their child. Being a caregiver is a part of who I am. Children say and do little things that make my day brighter and I would be honored to be part of their lives. What I Do As A Caregiver: I have been acknowledged for being bubbly, creative, and dependable. I incorporate basic Spanish when children are in my care, with permission from parents/guardians. I bring activities (fine motor games, play-dough, books, arts/crafts, and more). I also keep a journal of things we did while you are away, so you can read some highlights and basic needs info(diaper changing times and feeding times). I do give an overview of how the day went once you return home. I enjoy making simple meals and healthy snacks. I do not mind light housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, cleaning up play areas and doing your child's laundry. I use a variety of skills to provide a safe, fun, and comfortable environment for your child. I use redirection and "I" statements. I don't believe in yelling or raising my voice to get a child to listen to me. I am firm, yet compassionate and I bend down to talk to children at eye-level. Availability: Weekends, Evenings after 6PM, Early Mornings 6AM-8AM If you feel we may be a great match, let's talk!
