Hello! My name is Rumana, and I'm a recent graduate from UW Seattle. I’m currently studying for the MCAT and babysitting on the side, so my schedule is pretty flexible between the two! I am located in Seattle and can conveniently get to anywhere close by, such as Capitol Hill, but also have a car and can travel farther (as far as Bellevue, Redmond, Renton, etc.) if needed. I love kids and hope to become a pediatrician one day! To me, working with children is incredibly fun and exciting—I love to engage their curiosity and sense of play as a babysitter and help them learn how to be respectful and kind as peers at the same time. I have experience working with kids of all ages, particularly between infants to around 11 years old. When babysitting, I typically help kids read books, play lots of games, as well as do arts and crafts if available in order to stimulate their imagination and creativity. I am happy to help with homework, light housekeeping, and any other responsibilities you might need me to do. I babysat all throughout undergrad, amounting to 4 years of experience doing paid babysitting, and spent an initial 2 years working for a family with three talkative and active kids aged 1, 3, and 5. Afterwards, I began babysitting for many different families independently for an additional 2 years, and am super adaptable to a variety of kids! In terms of availability, I am typically available in the evenings on weekdays and all day on weekends, but again, I can be flexible if needed! Parenting is hard; the most fulfilling aspect of babysitting to me is helping your family maintain balance within your lives amidst busy schedules, and I sincerely hope to use my experience working with kids in my future career!

Hi everybody! I am a certified math teacher and a boys' basketball coach at a high school in Renton. I attended school at the University of Washington where I obtained my Master's in Teaching in 2020. I've been working with kids for 10 years and have babysat for the past 5 years. I've cared for many families, mostly in date night roles, with kids aged 1 and up. About my background: I home-schooled my children leading to their acceptance into Rhode Island School of Design (full scholarship,) Columbia University and Princeton University. Subsequently, I obtained my bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees in political science, the latter degree at the age of 55. Starting in 2017, I made 17 trips around the country to serve as a sitter educator for my granddaughter. After that I was a nanny educator in Austin, Texas, for her brother. Occasionally I managed care and education for both brother and sister, together. We moved to Bellevue Washington in June of 2023 to continue part-time care for the two grandchildren. Since then, I am working also for other families as a nanny educator and enjoy all age groups.
