Hi there, I'm Cedar! I'm a nanny with 5 years of childcare experience, specializing in infant/toddler care. I also babysit for families with children of all ages! EXPERIENCE For the past 2.5 years, I've nannied for 4 separate infant and toddler shares. My most recent year-long share started when the children were 3mo. and 6mo., and ended when they were 16mo. and 19mo. My previous contracts were: - 3 month share w/ two children from ages 10mo. & 12mo. -13mo & 16mo. - 7 month share w/ two children from ages 5mo. & 6mo. - 12mo. & 13mo. - 6 month share w/ two children from age 6mo. - 12mo. All these positions were lovely experiences, and the parents can provide references! In total, including these 4 shares, I have 5 years experience working in childcare. Prior to my current specialization as an infant nanny, I worked for 2.5 years Read more at Bright Horizons. For 1 year I was a Lead Preschool Teacher there, creating curriculum and running a classroom of 15-20 children. For 1.5 years, I worked as a Early Childhood Teacher with children 0-5yrs. Prior to that, I was an after-school teacher for K-8 at University Co-op School. Throughout the past five years, I've also provided backup care and babysitting for children of all ages. CHILDCARE APPROACH My main priority is to provide a loving, fun, and predictable environment for the children, while ensuring clear and transparent communication for the parents. I want the parents to feel confident they can count on me to "take it from here", and the kids can count on me for a big day full of fun, laughs, learning and cuddles! I'll keep a daily log (photos, videos, timeline) of everything we get up to, so you can stay informed and feel like you're right there with us. I'm also very skilled with infant developmental stages, and I have practical strategies to help facilitate their growth in a fun and playful way. I provide everything from baby sign language, to baby-led weaning, to physical exercise (crawling needs muscles!), and a play-led learning approach. My qualifications include such things as puzzle purveyor, make-believe magician, construction site surveyor, hide-and-seek scout, painting protegee, and cozy reading time companion. I love understanding the interests of the kids I'm with and helping nurture that curiosity. It's also important to me to get moving and get outside, rain or shine!
