Hello! A Little About Me: My name is Ashley and I moved to Seattle from Connecticut nearly two years ago. I currently work in a real estate office downtown during regular M-F business hours. This crazy quarantine has rekindled my creative energy, and I have spent my extra time refurbishing furniture, creating hand-made cards, propagating plants, practicing photography, reading novels and running. A Little About My Experience With Children: My main child-care experience was as a girl's volleyball coach. I tended to the athletic ages of 10 through 18, from years 2012 to 2018, in high school, middle school and sports center settings. I also briefly spent time as a para-professional at an elementary school in Meriden, CT, working closely with special-needs children that required extra attention and assistance with every day learning such as reading, writing and behavior, and personal tasks including eating lunch, walking to class and using Read more the bathroom. A Little About My Child Care Style: As a sitter/nanny, I think creativity and imagination are so important, along with positive reinforcement, especially with younger ages. I love to watch children create, understand and learn. I lean towards creative outlets, such as drawing, coloring, singing and dancing, and also love games, both fun and educational. For older age groups, I've found that reliability, honesty and understanding are critical in gaining trust and building an open relationship. A Little About Animals: I love pets! I have an eight year old husky mix (who was and still is a handful!), a one year old lab mix who I adopted last year in Everett, and a cat who I adopted from a shelter in 2017. A Little About My Availability: I am available for temporary sitting/nannying M-F after the hours of 5:30 PM, and on occasional weekends! I own my own car and have a clean driving record, so transportation should not be an issue.
