I’m a certified Behavioral Technician through the state of Washington and am an afterschool Elementary teacher at a school that focuses in social, emotional learning. I love working with children who may be experiencing social, cognitive barriers such as ASD and ADHD. As a teacher and childcare provider, I see my role as being a steady, caring role model, as well as someone who can guide children through day to day moments of growth, from chores and homework to emotional meltdowns. I love to help children solve problems to build resilience and confidence. I’m committed to building trust and mutually kind relationship with children as well as understanding their larger personal, social, and academic goals in communication with parents. I enjoy following children’s lead in their interests and have designed fun educational and artistic activities at museums, in schools, and at the home. I bring in my varied backgrounds and Read more skills such as cooking, languages, and music and art into activities such as designing board games, song-writing together on a ukulele, baking to learn about food science , and learning Japanese.
