My name is Roux, not Kirsten. I’m a passionate caregiver with over 18 years experience. I seek families to help as needed for childcare needs. I’m fully vaccinated. I have experience working as a preschool teacher, swim instructor, Teaching Assistant, and most positions within a family, such as mothers helper, nanny, and babysitter. I love working with all ages, but toddler to preschool age is where I’ve felt myself have the most mutually enriching relationships. In my year teaching as a preschool art teacher and 4 y/o classroom lead, I gained experience caring for large groups of children ranging from ages 0-5. I learned many safety measures and protocols on a local and state basis, receiving special accreditations and training. In high school I spent time in winters and summers teaching toddlers to swim, and coaching younger age groups on swim team. I enjoy helping children overcome water anxiety into confidence, and develop a love for sport and life - saving activity. Finding work as a nanny has changed my life. I served a family for several summers when I was young, a family for 5 months before grad school, and most recently a family for 13 months during the pandemic. Developing nurturing relationships with children brings me joy, and I take the responsibility seriously of being an adult they can depend on. I’m looking for as much work as possible until 10/14, at which time I need to transition to evening and weekend care.
