Hello! I'm Sarah. I was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008. From 2010-2016, I lived in Chicago before relocating to Seattle to be closer to family. I'm currently looking for nanny/household manager/personal assistant roles. I’ve provided child care for private families for 7+ years and also worked in corporate positions managing content for startups, tech, and government. I started working as a full-time nanny in San Francisco in 2009, and spent a summer in Greece teaching English to a classroom of Kindergarten students that same year. After moving to Chicago, I spent three years volunteering as a literacy tutor for a non-profit that provides reading and writing services for public-school students in grades 1-3. I've cared for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children and I've grown close to families over the years. I’d love to combine my Read more private family experience with my corporate background and find a role that’s a blend of personal assistant and household manager. A little bit more about me: 1) I’m proactive and organized. I can help create and stick to a schedule and manage meal prep, laundry, vacation planning, and other daily tasks. 2) I’m a skilled communicator and believe that clarity between children, parents, and nannies makes for a stronger team. I’m comfortable bringing issues to light in a considerate manner to ensure everyone is on the same page. 3) I'm very active and prioritize health and well-being in my daily life. I have the energy needed to pitch in with child care and keep things running smoothly. 4) I’m a positive, enthusiastic person and I’ve been fortunate to work with families where there was a high degree of mutual trust and respect. I’m also compassionate, patient and flexible, and quick to adapt to change when things don’t go according to plan. 5) I’m a trustworthy and committed teammate and I have wonderful relationships with the families I’ve worked for over the years. I’ve recently taken a 1.5 year sabbatical from the workforce to help care for my mother, and I now finally have the time, focus, and energy needed to establish a relationship with a new family. I'm happy to provide references (both corporate and nanny references depending on the role) and look forward to partnering with a great family, couple, or individual. Thanks for reading and best of luck with your search!

We have now had a variety of experiences with baby sitters and nannies, all of them pretty good, as we have traveled and moved since our almost two year old was born. Sarah, who took care of our son beginning when he was ~13 months, has been our best – by far. We felt completely comfortable with everything she did for our son and for our family. She was absolutely punctual and diligent while being flexible. She went far beyond "looking after" our son and made sure that he was interested and challenged every day (fingerpainting, reading etc), clearly considering his developmental stage. We have no reservations recommending her and would hire her again in a heartbeat.
