Hi there! I'm Nanny Jess, 32 years young, a mom of two and military spouse. In the past two and a half years, I have been a trained foster parent or guardian to 18 children in foster care. I have experience working with premature infants from birth, toddlers, school age children, pre-teens and teenagers. In August of 2016, I was hired as a part time nanny for eight months. During that time, I was responsible for the family's six month old daughter, three year old son and on occasion, their eight year old son. In addition to providing care of the children, I also helped with household chores including laundry, dishes, vacuuming and other light housework as needed. For the children I was routinely responsible for baths, feedings, diaper changes, helping them dress, dropping off and picking up from school. For fun we would take walks, go to the park, Read more craft and play games. My son is autistic and struggles with severe ADHD, so I personally have experience working with special needs children. We have experienced eating regressions, physical aggression, speech and developmental delays and sensory sensativities. I'm comfortable working with parents and therapist to learn what needs a child has and how to provide specified care. As well, during my time as a foster parent, I have worked with babies suffering from drug addictions, premature births and toddlers with various development delays. I like spending time outside as much as the child and weather permits. Some outdoor activities I enjoy are taking walks, playing at a park, side walk chalk, riding bikes, bubbles, and water or sand play. Indoors, I most enjoy coloring with the children I care for. It seems to be so relaxing for both me and the kids. I like to make crafts with the children for their parents or teachers. Hand and foot print art is my favorite. Working with children brings me so much joy and makes the time I spend away from my own that much easier! I feel like I'm doing something so important when helping take care of little ones. They and their parents put so much trust into me and I strive to provide the best care for them. I hope to meet you and well and find ways to help you and your family as well.
