Meet Maria

Hello! I completed both my undergrad and post grad degree at the University of Washington, both specializing in elementary instruction. I am currently in my second year of formally teaching Kindergarten. I also have experience working with preschool aged children to high school. During my sophomore year of college, I served as a corps member in Jumpstart - a program aimed at improving the educational trajectories for low-income students. Through this program, I received training in early childhood theory and practice and language and literacy development which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to effectively interact with young children. After serving as a corps member for a year, I decided to step into a larger role as a team leader. As a team leader, I coached members on how to use developmentally appropriate practices with young children, and designed educational activities for sessions. I am looking for one Read more time evening (when you need a one day relief from the kids for a night to yourself) or Saturday jobs. I am ideally looking for something from morning to afternoon, if hired for the weekends. I am also bilingual in English and Vietnamese!
