I’m an extroverted and social sitter! As someone who comes from a larger family, babysitting was a must. In high school I used to volunteer to teach younger girls how to dance. This had sparked the love for working with kids! Though with no “actual” experience I felt this seemed like a good part-time gig. That being said I’d be happy to connect with kids and have fun with any personality.

I am currently a student at Lawrence University studying psychology. I have experience with a range of children varying in needs and age. Every child is different and I hope to bring them joy by learning to nurture their needs.

I have watched over a number of families through my babysitting experience. Also, I have taken a babysitting certification course. I started babysitting in 6th grade and am currently still doing it. The past three years during the summer, I have babysat 7:30-4:30 for a family, four days a week. This included driving them to sports practices, making them lunch, cleaning up after them, and keeping them occupied. I love spending time with kids and building a connection with them. I am easy going which makes me adaptable to changing minds of children.

I started babysitting at the age of 9 years old and when I was 12 I took the babysitting course. Once I graduated high school I worked at a daycare center for a year and a half and then I got another full-time job and ended up watching my cousin’s kiddos after my full-time job for a few hours every night. In the meantime I ended up getting married to my husband (just celebrated 16 years in July) and went through years of infertility until we finally decided to adopt our 2 kiddos…our son is now 11 & our daughter is now 9. After my son was born I ended up being a stay at home mom and did childcare out of my house for the last 11 years.

My decade of experience caring for children aged newborn to 11 has equipped me with patience, creativity, and a friendly approach that children respond to. I'm comfortable caring for up to three children at a time. I communicate with parents using their preferred method, whether it's a quick chat at pickup or regular updates via text.
