I love being a sitter because it offers the opportunity to build meaningful connections. I still reach out to the sitters I had when I was a child and catch up every so often. It allows me to be a role model for a child and help children develop meaningful skills and life lessons that are needed for proper development. In addition, I get to make an impact on children which leads to those valuable life skills. Lastly, it helps expand my mind in terms of creativity, new activities, and helps me learn things that I would want to do for my future children. My experience consists of providing care for two children, ages two and four for a summer (June-August) in 2023. I took the kids to various lessons, provided meals, helped potty train, created a nurturing environment, and do various activities that help build motor skills as well Read more as different skills needed for future development. My skills include providing a nurturing and positive environment, communication, emotional regulation, time management, empathy, and having a flexible schedule. In addition, I took childcare development in college where I gained knowledge about proper care for a child's development and took biomedical science in high school which allows me to know what to do in an environment that is high intensity in the rare case a child were to get hurt. Lastly, I took a CPR class in high school where I as certified but it expired after two years.
