My name is Sierra. I am from Madison and I will be attending UW Madison this summer and starting my freshman year this fall. My major is forest science and I plan on being a wildland firefighter or park ranger. I am in a scholarship program that requires me to take classes and stay in the dorms this summer. While I am excited for this experience, it takes me out of the running for most other jobs. However, it has provided me with the opportunity to reconnect with something I love doing, working with kids! I used to spend my summers as a program leader for MSCR working with pre-k students and first graders, however this was before covid shut down the summer camps and such. I also was a swim instructor for MSCR teaching classes to adults with cognitive and physical disabilities, and children from the age of two Read more to nine. Some fun facts about me are that I have been vegan for the past two years, I have three dogs, and I love being in nature! This past year I decided to take classes at matc for wildland firefighting, urban firefighting, as well as an emergency responder class.
