Hi, my name is Julie. I am a parent as well, with two older children (Dyllon, age 14 and Eva, age 21). My husband and I live in Wauwatosa, and are both full-time employees in technology (him) and healthcare (me). My career has been in the mental health field, and working with young adults with depression and addiction diagnoses. I am especially comfortable with tweens, and enjoy helping kids with homework. My undergraduate degree is in English and my masters is in social work. My reason for seeking babysitting 'gigs' is to lighten my day; to offer an offset to the relatively heavier work I do in mental health. My approach to caring for older kids is to engage them in things that are off screen; art projects; cooking; baking; writing; help with homework (English /writing are my passions). These skills can be built in fun ways, such watching a Read more movie and writing a review of it! Teens decompress and relax with technology in a healthy way; and they need this downtime too.
