My name is Amy, and I am a student in UW-Milwaukee’s Master’s in Occupational Therapy program. Currently, I am looking for a part-time nannying/babysitting position to work in while I am in school. Growing up, my mom has run an in-home daycare for over 25 years. Being surrounded by a daycare setting has given me experience caring for children as young as 6 weeks old on a daily basis. Once I was old enough, I started paid babysitting roles on an as-need basis. In addition to babysitting, I was a swim instructor at the West Bend Parks and Recreation for children ages 6 months to 13 years. I was also a Head Dance Instructor at the Park and Rec for 6 years. Working with children is one of my biggest passions in life! I earned my Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation in August of 2022. Through this program, I learned how Read more to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate leisure and recreation activities and programs. This has given me a wonderful foundation for finding engaging activities and opportunities for those I serve, which translates perfectly for childcare. My education will help me to use fun, purposeful, and beneficial activities while providing care. As a therapeutic recreation student, I gain plenty of experience working with individuals with disabilities. I completed an internship at the Munroe-Meyer Institute in Omaha, NE this summer serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, and cerebral palsy. I would love to provide respite care to children diagnosed with disabilities, as well. I look forward to caring for your family!
