Hi, I'm Laura, Mother of 2 great boys and wife of 18 years. After 13 years of being a stay-at-home Mom for our two boys, I am looking to put my practical and "Mom" experience to use outside of my home. My boys are 13 and 14 years old (13 months apart in age) and unfortunately, they no longer need me as much as they use to. My Story: After years of infertility treatments, my husband and I had decided to give up and adopt. In May of 2012, I had my last procedure and we had agreed that if it didn't work we would adopt. We had plans to adopt internationally but needed to take some time to save and recoup financially and emotionally. In September 2012, we went to the beach with my parents and while we were there we received a phone call from a friend, she Read more told me that her grandmother knew a girl that needed to place her baby up for adoption and gave me her phone number. Long story short, 15 days later, I was in the delivery room holding my perfectly healthy baby boy. My heart was bursting with joy but there was another little boy in the picture that just broke my heart. The biological Mother had a 13 month old son and I knew that she was in not in the position to take care of him. I asked her if she would consider letting us adopt both boys and she told me no. Fast forward five years and I received a phone call from the state of WV. That same little boy was in foster care and they asked if we would be willing to adopt him. We immediately agreed and started the necessary classes, background checks and meetings in order to adopt through the state of WV. He came to live with us 5 days before he turned 6 years old. It wasn't an easy transition but we adjusted and eventually he blossomed. Both boys are in middle school now, straight A students, athletes and great young men. It makes me sad that my babies no longer need me as much as they used but I can't wait to see what the future holds for them... I would love to be a part of your child's life too....
