We are looking for someone to spend time with our 3-year-old son, Henry, who has autism. A few things to know about Henry:
He may occasionally cover his ears and rock himself as a way to self-soothe. This is normal for him, and there is no need to stop or draw attention to it.
When he needs to have a bowel movement, he will often hide behind the couch for privacy. This is one of his cues that he needs to do his business.
Henry responds well to positive engagement, play, laughter, and patience. We are looking for someone who will help him feel comfortable, happy, and included.
Responsibilities include:
Playing and interacting with Henry.
Helping keep him engaged and entertained.
Changing his diaper as needed.
Preparing and serving his lunch.
Supervising him throughout the day.
We also have a German Shepherd. He is a gentle giant who thinks he is a lap dog, so being comfortable around large dogs is a must.
