I’m a single parent looking for after school care in Western Springs for my 10 year old 5th grade son with Asperger’s M - Th 3:30-6:30 and my 7 year old 2nd grade daughter with ADHD M -Th 5:30-6:30. Start date & schedule can both be flexible until January 2nd when new semester starts. Primary responsibilities are helping my son in the afternoon (e.g. put school thing away, get dinner, and ideally making lunch for next day & starting homework) then picking my daughter up from after school program at 5:30 and doing the same with her. Both kids enjoy cooking, soccer, going to the park, science experiments, and games. My daughter also likes art. For someone who wants more hours, occasional evening babysitting, Fridays, or earlier arrival to help organize kid things are possible. Grandparents are nearby so we can work around times you need off. Special needs experience helpful, but patience is necessary.
