My named is Rachel, I am a mother of 2 adult children and Oma to 1 grandson. I have worked with developmental disable/non-disable children/adults for over 25 years. *18 years as an F/T Asst. Supervisor/Direct Care/Behavioral Specialist. *8 years as a P/T Direct Support Professional for a private residence with 1 1/2 years of rehabilitation/speech for a 2 different young men injured in automobile accidents. *8 years as a P/T/and currently as a sub contractor Community Integration Specialist. In 2011 I retired to take care of my then soon to be grandson who was born with Hypohdrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia. He lived with me and I was his F/T care-provider for 6 1/2 years, also home schooled him pre-k though kindergarten. Last summer he moved away and I have found I have a lot of free time. So in October I started working again and was employed as a P/T nanny for a 4-year-old boy that I had care for occasionally since birth, but in December his grandmother was lucky enough to move closer and now takes care of him. I am a nurturer by nature. I love children, animals, mother nature and being able to maybe make a difference no matter how small.

Rachel just started looking in on my puppy (Dodge) recently to make sure he is a happy camper. So far Rachel has been reliable, affectionate towards Dodge and would recommend to others seeking similar help.

Alondra is the BEST! We were so lucky to have her! She was always on time (often early) and flexible if we ever needed more time. She was incredible with our baby girl starting at 4 months old. She was intuitive and got her down for all her naps. You would often hear her singing and playing with her. She gave her full attention. You could tell my girl was super comfortable with her and would light up every time she came over. Alondra also speaks Spanish and spoke only Spanish to our girl (I am a Spanish teacher and that was important to me). She is easy to communicate with and genuine and kind. I can't recommend her enough :)

I love being a babysitter because I really enjoy spending time with kids and discovering all sorts of interesting things. It brings me great joy to learn alongside them and it makes this job incredibly fulfilling. I have several years of experience working with children, having been involved in children’s radio programs since I was nine years old, leading music workshops and school concerts. For babies and toddlers from birth up to three years old, I provide daily, age-appropriate activities focused on early childhood development, including motor skills such crawling, walking or talking, autonomy skills, and daily care such as feeding, hygiene, and learning what they can safely eat. I love using music and movement with them, and I’m always researching and learning whether it’s about child development, nutrition, or body movement. This allows me to always think like a child and connect with them at their level, which is the best way I can support their growth. I also like guiding them through values I learned at home since I was little with helped me a lot as a person. Since I was a child, I have been deeply interested in the world of arts and music. From the age of 12, I have been learning to play instruments like the jarana, piano, ukulele, and I perform basic skills in guitar and Latin percussion. Since I was 6, I have also danced folk and Latin American dances. Additionally, since I was 9, I have been part of a radio program, so I am a radio host and do voiceover and radio presenting. I have also been studying to become a jazz singer for two years. I absolutely love dancing, painting, drawing, and creating crafts. I also love cooking; I have learned a lot from my mom. Since I was 12, I have been deeply immersed in a traditional musical genre from my hometown, and I continue to grow my knowledge in that style. I consider myself a nature lover, and I am passionate about teaching kids the importance of caring for the environment. I have and I feel that I connect easily with children. I also have a lot of patience, which I have found is the key to all of this work that I love, and I have been driving since I was 14 years old.

Dariana was incredible to have as our caretaker for my two girls. They were ages 2 and the younger 6 months at the time, so it was very hands on! They were so loved and cared for - she helped prepare healthy meals, go for outings to the park and library, manage nap times. She became a dear friend to our family, and we are so grateful for the time spent together.

I’m 31 years old and have worked at various preschools, daycares and church based programs. I’ve also worked for Christine Fleenor who at the time was the president of the Santa Maria Association for Family Child Care and helped her set up workshops and classes while attending them as well. I’m CPR & 1st Aid certified, current physical & TB test, have attained 30 units in Early Childhood Studies, 3 units in health education, passed the background check and clean driving record (which I have both available on care.com). I don’t have any children yet but treat each one like my own because it’s my passion. Thanks for reading :)

Hi! I’m Nicole! I’m a happy, fun-loving detail-oriented mom of 3 teenagers. I own a children’s resale boutique in town and one of the things I like best about it is interacting with the kids and their families! I work in my shop only part time and now that my kids are older I’ve found that I have time and love to give to families that need a little help or a break or a date night! I love animals and so pets in the home are a bonus for me. I’m also very happy to help with meal prep or tidying up if I’m at your home. I love the parks and the beach and I’m willing to take kids for walks or on outings. I’m happy to help with homework too. I love board games and coloring or drawing and playing dolls or Legos or imagination games or doing anything that the kids like to do. I’m fit so I can keep up With them on bikes or scooters or even just racing around outside. I truly enjoy being silly with kids of all ages and enjoy having fun and engaging with them at their level. Newborns to teens… I love all the stages! I was a full time nanny before and during my tenure at UCSB and started babysitting as soon as I could as a young girl. I think it’s because I have a lot of love to give and my family of origin is very small so I have enjoyed being part of the families I work with. After UCSB I worked in both educational and residential facilities with severely emotionally disturbed teenagers and learned so much about behavior management and caring for children who need extra support. That was truly an educational experience for me and has positively impacted my relationships with children and as a parent myself. What else? I’m punctual, thoughtful, I have a strong work ethic, and I do what I commit to doing! I have a positive outlook on life and that shows in all I do! Let me know if you think I could be of help to you and your family! ❤️☺️

Hi! I'm Kristen, I have a 3.5 year old boy and a 1 year old baby girl and I stay home with them every day (minus Tuesday morning when I go to school with my son). I've been looking for part time work, but can't seem to match up what I need to the schedules needed by most businesses, so I thought why not open our home to other little ones who need a safe place to play all day. I have enough room for 2 more children at our home. We have a nice backyard and love close to the parks and beach. Please come over and meet us! We'd love to meet you!

I am a smiley and outgoing person who is always willing to go out of their way to ensure the best care is provided to my clients. As a child, some of my fondest memories were with a fun and caring babysitter. I want to provide this similar positive hexperience for the next generation! I also enjoy the learning process and love to teach kids new things, as well as build skills they have already started on. Having fun is always a priority, but safety is always number one in my book. Academically, I am a UCSB psychology alumni and I am currently a graduate student at UCLA. Professionally, I am well versed in positive youth development in various settings. Personally, I am an easily excited individual who enjoys the outdoors, animals, the beach, and learning new things!
