At both Legacy and Sunshine I learned to get down on a child’s level, using positive reinforcement to mold and shape kids with love and positivity. I am careful to give clear expectations and to anticipate potential behavioral issues and catch them before they start. (An example of this would be giving a five minute warning if our play is coming to an end, to avoid a transition meltdown, when playing playdoh setting expectations before playing as far and how to use the playdoh appropriately etc. I love kids and enjoy playing with them and learning together. I l appreciate going to the park and helping children with their homework, and reading books or playing games. My kids are getting older and I now have time to work again. You name it I have done it all from rocking colicky babies, potty training , to teaching four kids their alphabet, sight words and how to read. I have focused on character development with my kids molding them with self control, honesty, patience, kindness etc. I also model that same character, being someone who shows patience, compassion and being reliable in my life. Hello! My name is Genessee but I like to go by Genna ("Jenna"). I am a full time student, but mostly taking ONLINE CLASSES. I am studying to be a pediatric psychiatrist/therapist. I love kids and enjoy the love little human beings give. Although I'm 21 I have two little sisters I've helped raise (9 and 7 years old). Growing up in a big family I was always around children! In addition to having a lot of younger cousins my parents had decided to have my two younger sisters. There is a 15 and 17 year age gap between me and them. As an older sister I was always willing to watch my siblings when my parents could not. A few years ago I also had the pleasure of nannying a family that has 5 children ranging from then 13 to as young as a 2 year old. I was caring for a 1 1/2 year old boy but I’m now currently caring for a 6 month old. I do really enjoy taking care of these kids! Everyday is different and it is so amazing to see the world through their eyes.
