Hello! My name is Karla, and in 2023, I moved to Kailua-Kona with the intent to work at Alakaii Academy, a preschool. This was my first experience working with children, and I am very grateful to Mrs. Pablo for giving me the opportunity to work there with just my caregiver qualification. During my time at Alakaii Academy, I learned more than I had expected. I gained a better understanding of child development and taught the little ones how to socialize for the first time. I have the patience to listen to them and help them make the best choices, such as understanding the importance of cleaning up after play and potty training.
