I love being a sitter because children are funny, insightful, and I always learn from them as they do from me. I have a variety of interests which allows me to easily connect kids and adults about their own interests from animals, arts, books, music, sports, etc. My philosophy for caring for children is giving them agency (depending on age) and allowing them to guide me in what activities we engage in (within parental parameters). Hi, I'm Ava! I was born and raised in the Bay Area, then moved to the East Coast with the family I was nannying for at the time. I just moved to Modesto and am looking to meet new families! I've always loved working with kids- I started babysitting when I was 12 and then at my local YMCA when I was 15. I worked summer camp, after school, and child watch programs- with children ranging from 6 months to 11 years in age. When I was 17, I started nannying. My typical duties included driving the kids to after school activities, taking them to the park, meal prep, light housework, and general care.
