Ive taught a few to read before entering kindergarten. I like using flash cards to teach colors, animals, shapes, numbers and the alphabet. I love working with children and I look forward to working with yours! I am currently looking to provide care for a family, either part time or full time. I love caring for children and watching them as they grow and develop, teaching them and allowing them to teach themselves about life and the world they live in. I have many years of experience with all ages as the eldest of four and the chosen sitter for many of my younger cousins. Newborn to three years old are my favorite and specialty but I am experienced with all ages up to 16 years old. I love playing and I am a firm believer that the best learning happens through play. When I am caring for children we dance, cook (depending on age and ability), read, paint or color, sing, and do lots of talking-regardless of age!!! I believe effective, respectful communication is needed when dealing with people of all ages, but especially children. I have some experience working with babies and 1 year olds up to 3 year olds. I love to play with babies, change them, watch them, and protect them. I have worked at three churches working with babies ages 0-3 and other ages. I can tolerate loud crying, and I can carry them for long periods of time, and sing to them and play with them to keep them calm. I love working with children, and being a support system and guide for them and being an assistance for the parents.

I have been taking care of children for 45 years and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I have worked with all ages ranging from newborns-teenage years. Much of my experience has been with preschools but also I have been with many many families over the years as a nanny and a babysitter. I have been married for 25 years  to a wonderful man and we have a 29-year-old daughter who lives in Indianapolis and is studying to become a pediatric nurse.  She has always been the light of our lives.
