I've been babysitting since I was 12 years old and took an 8-hour babysitting course that included CPR training and cooking skills. Since then, I've had vast experience working with children, including: Summer Recreation Leader: At Alameda Recreation and Park Department, I led diverse programs for youth (K-12), designed engaging activities, coordinated various events, and ensured safety during city-wide outings. Art Docent: At Alameda Arts at Maya Lin Elementary School, I created and implemented creative exploration programs, fostering a dynamic environment and providing personalized support to children. Family Childcare Provider: I supervised elementary students, organized engaging activities, offered academic instruction, and maintained a nurturing, safe environment. Elementary and Middle School Tutor: I provided academic support and tailored instruction to help students achieve their educational goals while having fun. I've also taken classes and passed the CSET in preparation for becoming a teacher. I start the Cal Poly MSTEP program this fall!

Hello! My name is Britt. 😊 I grew up in WA state near Seattle and came to CA for college. I have 29 years of experience... Ever since age 13 I’ve babysat for several families at a time and also loved it! I think the best part of it all is getting to see these tiny beings change and grow, seeing their personalities come to light. Many might see babysitting as just a necessity for parents to be able to go out and have adult time, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a chance to have fun, to engage a child’s sense of wonder and their sense of self. I like to do activities with them and be outdoors when possible. I’m very respectful of parents’ preferences and like to follow their same rules set for their kids. I know that being a parent can sometimes be challenging... I can be there to help give you a much needed break or to help make daily life a little easier for you. While I have not been blessed to be a mother yet myself, I’ve learned a wide variety of things from each of the families I’ve had the pleasure to know and love. I have experience with autistic, Down syndrome, as well as behaviorally challenged individuals. I can help with homework, house work, transportation, and errands. I also am available for overnights, weekend stays (or longer if needed) and assistance on family vacations. Any other questions feel free to ask! ☺️

Hello! I'm Shay, I just moved to San Luis Obispo after living in Oregon for the last year and a half. I recently finished EMT training and am in the job search and application process to work in town. I used to babysit pretty consistently during high school and then watched people's dogs and cats fairly frequently during college. I also used to volunteer at a local retirement home so have some experience assisting elders. I hope my emergency medicine training will help you feel at ease while caring for your loved ones. I am open to caring for pets, children, and seniors. :)

I am 25 and have grown up with child care experience. I am the oldest of seven children, the youngest of whom is a four-year old boy. Growing up, I took care of my siblings while my mom worked jobs to support us. I highly respect a busy working mother. My siblings were of all ages and I learned skills of adaptability, patience, good judgement, and self-motivation. I helped take care of the house and entertained my siblings when we weren’t in school. I was highly motivated in high school and I also played tennis! I graduated from CSU-Monterey Bay in California with a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Education. I am very passionate about getting myself and young people outside and interested in science and the natural sciences particularly. I learned how to teach students using experience-based learning and open-ended questions. While in undergraduate school and after graduation I taught in a before (6-10am) and after school program (2-7pm) for children of people who work in agriculture for four years. I worked alone with ~10 kids with a range of ages 5-12 in a class. I had to use strong problem skills, creative quick thinking, and self-management to support their success academically, emotionally, and socially. My style is balancing age appropriate conversation and treating them as adults/their own individual person. I believe in inspiring self-responsibility and motivation through incentives and having a positive relationship with the child while also communicating strengths or needs for support with the parent(s). I created daily activities myself or asked the kids to choose a range of activities (puzzles, coloring, computer school games, homework help, crafts, card games), encouraged outside activities (basketball, versions of tag, laying in the grass listening to music) and participated in general conversation with kids of all ages. Pre-COVID19 I brought them to outdoor field trips and nature walks. During the pandemic my main goal was to keep them emotionally regulated and as motivated in school as possible. Other skills that are worth noting for supporting child success is I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I was CPR certified but will need to renew it as it expired this year. I also have a clean driving record but I have moved from California and will need to get a New York Driving License. Thank you, Jasmin Gonzalez

Hi, My name is Paige Bariteau and I am from Santa Cruz California. I am currently attending Cuesta College majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Early Childhood Development. My mom has taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade my whole life allowing me to help out and work one on one with the kids. I’ve been babysitting since I was 15 years old. I would watch neighborhood kids of all ages while their parents would go out. When I turned 16 I got a job nannying a 2 year old and 4 year old. I would pick them up from school take them to the park then back home for dinner, bath, and bed time. When I was not in school I’d go over in the morning to wake them up, make breakfast and get them ready for the day. I learned a lot of responsibility and management skills while doing this job. When I was 17, I worked for a family after school watching their 9 month old and 2 year old while their parents were at work or out on date nights. Multitasking with two kids is very manageable for me. On top of babysitting, I worked three days a week at a restaurant as a server where I learned how to problem solve and work with others to create an environment where people feel welcomed and accommodated while at our restaurant. While on honor role at my high school I played three Varsity sports, where I learned the importance of being a team player.

I love to cook, do crafts, play games and bake. I have been doing childcare for over 10 years. My goal is to provide stability and do what you would in situations, to the best of my ability.. I spent two years with a family with children aged 7, 10, and 13 for two years. I cared for them and the home. I scheduled, worked with specialists, meal planned/shopped, cared for up to 8 pets, helped with laundry and more. I cared for one 20-month-old for one year. That included daily care and appointments. I was a nanny for a family with children aged 6, 8 and 10 for four years. I did weekly overnights, 72 hour shifts and more. Previous to that I was a part-time nanny for the a family for 2 years. I watched their three girls; infant, 2 and 4. I would feed, get ready, do naps and bedtime. I worked for a family with two boys ages 9 and 7 at the time that I left. I was with the family for 5.5 years. I helped with date nights, bed time, meals, vacations and day to day. I have worked with infants - teens. I am getting re CPR/First Aid/AED certified and vaccinated. I can do daily care, overnight care, multi day care, homework help, travel and activity transportation. I cook and can pack lunches.
