I am 25 and have grown up with child care experience. I am the oldest of seven children, the youngest of whom is a four-year old boy. Growing up, I took care of my siblings while my mom worked jobs to support us. I highly respect a busy working mother. My siblings were of all ages and I learned skills of adaptability, patience, good judgement, and self-motivation. I helped take care of the house and entertained my siblings when we weren’t in school. I was highly motivated in high school and I also played tennis! I graduated from CSU-Monterey Bay in California with a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Education. I am very passionate about getting myself and young people outside and interested in science and the natural sciences particularly. I learned how to teach students using experience-based learning and open-ended questions. While in undergraduate school and after graduation I taught in a before (6-10am) and after school program (2-7pm) for children of people who work in agriculture for four years. I worked alone with ~10 kids with a range of ages 5-12 in a class. I had to use strong problem skills, creative quick thinking, and self-management to support their success academically, emotionally, and socially. My style is balancing age appropriate conversation and treating them as adults/their own individual person. I believe in inspiring self-responsibility and motivation through incentives and having a positive relationship with the child while also communicating strengths or needs for support with the parent(s). I created daily activities myself or asked the kids to choose a range of activities (puzzles, coloring, computer school games, homework help, crafts, card games), encouraged outside activities (basketball, versions of tag, laying in the grass listening to music) and participated in general conversation with kids of all ages. Pre-COVID19 I brought them to outdoor field trips and nature walks. During the pandemic my main goal was to keep them emotionally regulated and as motivated in school as possible. Other skills that are worth noting for supporting child success is I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I was CPR certified but will need to renew it as it expired this year. I also have a clean driving record but I have moved from California and will need to get a New York Driving License. Thank you, Jasmin Gonzalez

I love children, I used to be a elementary school teacher I would teach the subject of art. I also hosted many outdoor nature events for kids to experience hiking. I care deeply for children and can connect to them where they feel seen, heard, and even can play endlessly. I enjoy caring. Cooking even, being in a family setting. I am very artistic, well-educated, and adventurous. I know how to handle change, I'm adaptive and got a very big heart. I can sense slight things so I can feel when a child is one way or the other and will steer them towards the right direction.

Hi! I’m a college student at Cal Poly who is new to professional childcare but has several years of experience working with and mentoring kids. I’ve spent 6 years teaching at summer camps, leading activities and supervising groups, and completed a year-long internship with Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County, where I helped supervise mentorship programs and spent time doing one-on-one activities with children. I’ve also had 7 years of intermittent babysitting experience caring for my godsister, worked briefly at Kumon tutoring kids in reading and math, and have taught alto saxophone lessons. These experiences have helped me develop patience, creativity, and strong communication skills with kids. I’m responsible, reliable, and have my own car for transportation. I enjoy creating a fun and supportive environment for kids and would love to help support your family!

Hi! I’m a second-year English major at Cal Poly and plan to attend law school after graduating. I’ve worked as both a babysitter and nanny throughout high school, so I’m very comfortable caring for kids and helping with routines, homework, and activities. I’m also a Type 1 diabetic, which has made me very responsible and experienced when it comes to managing medical situations. I’m currently in the process of renewing my CPR certification as well. I’m looking for a part-time nanny or babysitting position and would love to connect!

Hello, my name is Jack, I have 7ish years of child care experience. I'm located just outside of Cal Poly SLO and I have a clean driving record and a car with a high safety rating. I love to cook, especially for a crowd, and I have some house cleaning experience. I'm more than comfortable with pets as I have a cat at home, even though have a mild cat allergy, though that will not be an issue. I'm fully CPR certified and have basic first aid training. Due to my work, I have plenty of experience helping kids with distance learning, homeschooling, and helping with homework. I have experience working with all age groups. I'm also more than comfortable supervising larger groups of kids or chaperoning gatherings. I'm available for last-minute bookings and have highly flexible rates.

Hi families! My name is Janie and I'm a professional childcare provider based in Arroyo Grande. For the past several years l've been running my own licensed family childcare program, Tiny Tots Playhouse, where I cared for infants and toddlers in a structured, nurturing environment. This experience gave me strong skills in child development, safety practices, routines, and creating calm, engaging days for little ones. I truly love helping children grow and explore the world around them. My days with kids often include outdoor play, reading, sensory activities, music, and age-appropriate learning through play. I'm patient, reliable, and passionate about creating a safe and loving environment where children can thrive. I'm currently exploring transitioning into a nanny role where I can provide individualized care and build a strong relationship with one family. I'd love to connect and see if we might be a good fit!

Hi! I have worked with children for over 6 years now. I started as a babysitter and transitioned to a full time private nanny, and for the last two and a half years I have also been combining that with doing full spectrum doula work. I am currently completing my certification as a newborn care specialist. I especially enjoy working with infants. I am passionate about supporting not just your baby but your family as it grows and changes. I have extensive experience with newborns, infants, and toddlers. As well as with children with special needs and babies born extremely premature. As a doula I have knowledge around breast feeding, bottle feeding, and pumping and can support in all areas. I also have experience with introducing solids and have knowledge on the best ways to help your baby hit their milestones.
