My name is Heron Yosief Haile and I am 27 years old. I was born in Eritrea, East Africa and speak English, Tigrigna, and basic Spanish(still learning and practicing). I grew up in a large family with many siblings and cousins who led by example how to care for your younger siblings and cousins. I love being a sitter because children are funny, insightful, and I always learn from them as they do from me. I have a variety of interests which allows me to easily connect kids and adults about their own interests from animals, arts, books, music, sports, etc. My philosophy for caring for children is giving them agency (depending on age) and allowing them to guide me in what activities we engage in (within parental parameters). I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I enjoy the many outdoor activities living in CA provides including swimming, mountain bike riding, and hiking. I am also a creative person, so art and jewelry making have been a great outlet and passion. I attended the University of California Davis and then went on to receive my Bachelor of Science from San Jose State University. As a childcare provider, I enjoy sharing my love of the outdoors and creativity/art with kids. I have over ten years of experience including babysitting, working as a Registered Behavior Technician, and the joy my now 7-year-old nephew brings me. I enjoy babysitting because all my life I’ve baby sat my siblings, cousins, and nieces and nephews. So as I have gotten into doing it I’ve loved it more and more getting to know each of their little personalities and being able to watch them be their own creative self. Hi! I'm a recent college graduate with a degree in nursing and am seeking babysitting opportunities while I wait for the start of my hospital position in a few months. I enjoy working with children and have hands-on experience both in the hospitals and in the community with a wide range of ages. During my time as a student, I volunteered at my school's child development center (infant to school-aged children), worked as a recreational gymnastics coach (children ages 3 to 18, children with special needs), and completed clinical rotations on pediatric-specific floors (nursery, pediatric unit, neonatal ICU).
